Description

Join Tammy in her studio for an exciting drawing and printing experience. Tammy grew up on a farm in the Eastern Cape of South Africa. She studied at Rhodes University in South Africa, majoring in Printmaking and graduating with an Honours Degree in Fine Arts. The first year of this art degree concentrated wholly on drawing. This included life drawing, still life drawing, drawings of ancient Greek and Roman casts and experimental drawing. It was during this period that “A true love of drawing was instilled in me”.

Her drawings are often the starting point of her process, with each drawing continuing their life in a series of prints. Animals and birds have become central to the themes she draws. Tammy has exhibited at the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition in 2013, 2014 and 2015 consecutively. Spending a day with Tammy you will be able to explore ideas and drawing processes as well as being introduced to the production of monoprints, monoprints using water colours and potentially etching inks. Tammy will be happy to create a day that would suit your needs and expectations.
