Description

Join Michael Wallner, one of today’s most contemporary and internationally acclaimed British artists. Michael has spent more than twenty years in the media industry working on more than a thousand entertainment programs, talk shows, documentaries, animations and a children’s novel. Creating original and innovative art is his true passion. Now working from his studio in Wimbledon his latest works celebrate the beauty of the City through the shape, outline and colours that define its character. New York, London, Hong Kong, Singapore, Miami, Paris and Dubai all feature in Michael’s portfolio. The art is created by digitally manipulating and painstakingly colouring his own photographs on a graphics tablet to produce art on usual materials. He works with brushed aluminium, reclaimed wood, brass and even 1930’s copper-lite windows.
Michael is constantly on the lookout for the most unusual views, angles and shapes for his work. Much of his art is created from aerial photographs. How can your image be different to the thousands that have been taken before? How would it look on a canvas, glass, in a frame, or on metal? See your photograph as a potential work of art, not just a snapshot for the album.

This is not a technical lesson on photography but more a coaching of how to change the way you the see the world – how to take a better picture, whatever camera you may use and to turn your photographs into art. You will be visiting some great London locations both obvious plus secret ones to learn the art of great photography – not simply how to take a good picture, but how to create a work of art. You will be provided with an itinerary which will outline your meeting place in the City starting with a coffee and chat, followed by your experience including a stop for lunch. At the end of the day you will have the opportunity to create a small piece of art on aluminium which you can take home with you or could be sent to you via post.
