Bonjour Monsieur Courbet
An opportunity to paint the paysage of Gustave Courbet’s favourite region. You will be guided throughout by Tod in the open air amongst the vines, olive groves and cypresses. Painters such as Courbet, Cezanne and Van Gogh never tired of painting this region.
You will return home with a permanent record of your achievements.
The team, Tod Ramos and Kate Lovegrove have been sharing their lives for more than 20 years, in this time they have united their expert fields of fine art to hone an unbeatable art school. Art is in their DNA which has been supported by two very successful professional art careers.
Our guests stay in our charming dépendance. This was a winemaker’s house, built in the vernacular of the Languedoc region of France. Some rooms walk out onto a vine-adorned terrace overlooking the garden. Whilst others are at the top of a winding staircase. We all dine together at a long table in the garden or at the refectory table in the house. The vaulted sitting room is an exquisitely cool retreat in the heat of the summer. There are arched niches outside it with seating for quiet repose. The indoor heated swimming pool is made from a vast old wine vat and the retained wine press sits beside it; the water descends into the pool from a giant wine barrel.
We provide all meals and the varied Mediterranean food and wine are plentiful. The benefits of a very high standard of cuisine and extremely comfortable accommodation are clear when we evaluate the quality of the work produced whilst with us! Kate Lovegrove is not only an internationally known mural painter, but she is also a cordon bleu trained cook.
